The particular perspective only she can illuminate because no one else has lived precisely what she has lived, noticed what she has noticed, or made meaning from it quite the same way.
She isn’t interested in flattening that multidimensionality into another template, a tighter niche, or a portrait with a coffee mug and a laptop.
She’s becoming known for something. And that asks for bolder questions. Not: How do I make myself legible? But: Is there even a language that can hold all of me?

Cosmic Creative Brief
With two decades spanning movement education, choreography, performance, and creative direction, and a decade studying astrology, Kimmie has developed an unusual fluency in the body as both instrument and storyteller. Her work has been commissioned by the National Gallery of Art and the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, and her fashion photography collaborations with Enoch Chan have received international recognition by the One Eyeland Awards.
Across everything she creates, Kimmie begins with what cannot yet be seen - an inner state, a becoming, a possibility - and builds the conditions for it to take form. Her work offers new ways to see yourself and what you might choose to make visible.
Kimmie Dobbs Chan is a Creative Director, Movement Director, Choreographer, and Co-Founder of Enoch Chan Photography and DEVIATED THEATRE. Her work brings together portraiture, movement, embodiment, visual storytelling, symbolism, and world-building to help people translate what is felt internally into a visual language that can be seen.
